The people of Sunderland Road

Hello everyone!

I have added a new album to the image gallery. It is called "The People of Sunderland Road".

I am starting to receive messages and photos from local people, the photos were taken many years ago so I will put them in this album for everyone to see.

If you look at the entry below it is called "Eurpoean Neighbours Day - The People of Sunderland Road" the stories that i receive I will be put in here. Have a look at the pictures and the stories and tell me what you think!

If you would like to get your story, or that of your parents, friends, relatives, grandparents then write them down and email them to me!

If you have any more stories or photos that you would like me to add you can email them to me as an attachment directly to stephenward@gateshead.gov.uk or even pop into Sunderland Road Library with your photographs and the staff will help you!

Wednesdays Evening Chronicle!!!

Did anyone see Wednesdays Evening Chronicle Newspaper?

I think there may have been a story and a photograph that you might just recognise!

Can anyone tell me what the story might be and who was in it?

Who can tell me who is in the newspaper?

If you were in the newspaper article, what is it like to be in the newspaper!

A Message From Councillor Armstrong

Hello everyone. I've just been checking out the list for the final street name. I can't believe how hard everyone has worked and all the research that you have put into this. It's going to be really difficult to choose the last name because they are all so good. Well done to all of you.

The Last Street Name

Hello Everyone!! I hope you are having a great time on your school holidays! We have looked very carefully through the names that you have sent us, in the last two weeks or so we have had over two hundred new suggestions for the final street name!

So after careful consideration we have put forward the following names to be considered by the Council, they are:

1. Claxton Avenue/Street/Road
2. New Avenue
3. Writers Way
4. Adler Street
5. Angel Avenue/Street/Road
6. Goldrise Avenue

What do you think of these names?

Which one would you like to see chosen!

I will see you all when you get back from your holidays!

Stephen.
